Takes a little to get into this book and I hope there is a next book because it really leaves you hanging at the end. I loved the characters, and I loved the relationship between Tom and Pia. Anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. America has long been criticized for refusing to give harbor to the Jews of Europe as Hitler and the Nazis closed in. Right from the start it was an adventure that I couldn't put down. He seems to feel sorry for deSoto because the "Indians" gave him "a dreadful time". This series books for kids has music theory lessons with a funny puppy.
